Simon Sutherland has gained full-time employment in roofing with Your Homes Newcastle. Simon completed a six-month Building Crafts Occupations course with Building Futures East which covered construction skills in plastering, tiling, brickwork, joinery, painting and decorating. From day one Simon showed great attitude and team working skills and often went out of his way to help others. Simon was never afraid to work hard over the six months producing some outstanding work along the way. This lead to a chance for Simon to develop his skills and he was offered a 6-month job with Building Futures East on the Future Jobs Fund programme. Simon gained skills in First Aid, Manual Handing, Asbestos Awareness and Interview Skills as well as gaining valuable work experience.

Simon will be a fantastic asset to Your Homes Newcastle and the construction tutor team and everybody at Building Futures East would like to congratulate Simon on his new job and wish him all the success in the future.
