Our Riverside Roots project uses horticulture and growing as a means of building personal capacity, reducing isolation, promoting friendship and improving physical and mental health. We recognise the benefits that learning gardening skills can have, aiding local families to gain valuable skills that can allow them to grow their own fresh produce regardless of how much space they have at home.

We also want to encourage our community members to consider the environment and the impact of their carbon footprint, sharing and celebrating the small steps we can all take to reduce waste, adopt eco-friendly approaches when gardening and maximise fresh produce cultivation.

Our Secret Garden Bus is an exciting addition to our garden area and we are currently in the process of converting it into a greenhouse that will allow us to work with more local residents and upscale our growing capacity. Ultimately our aim is to be able to supply freshly grown produce with all of the food parcels we distribute.
