Stacey began her learning journey with Building Futures East in April of this year when she started the NCFE Level 2 ‘Working in the Health Sector’ course. On completing and passing the course, in June of this year, Stacey continued with her learning and has also achieved NCFE Level 1 in Occupational Studies where she learnt skills in Plastering and Bricklaying which Stacey has said “…was brilliant” and is very keen to begin the Level 2 course.
While waiting to access this course, Stacey said she would like to do another course to help her practice and update her skills in literacy. So, at the beginning of the academic year, Stacey started a Childcare course and is working towards gaining the Level 1 City and Guilds Extended Award in Employability and Personal Development, Child Growth, Social and Emotional Development, which includes gaining a Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Stacey is enjoying the course and finding the knowledge and skills covered in the sessions are helping to support her parenting skills with her own little boy who is three years old.
Asking about her learning experience with Building Futures East Stacey said “It’s helped me get out, get new skills and gain confidence”.
