First planter session gets off to a flying start!

The poor weather didn’t dampen the spirits of the five girls who took part in the first Summer Programme planter session at Building Futures East.  Firstly the girls had to assemble the planter boxes and for many it was their first time using a screwdriver.  Erin Turnbull Administrator/Receptionist said “I thought assembling the planter boxes was difficult but not for these girls!  They are definitely handy women in the making!”

Morning session complete the girls took a well deserved break for lunch during which they successfully completed summer word searches and spot the difference.  Then it was back to work.  The afternoon session consisted of planting the flowers in the boxes.  The girls enjoyed themselves so much they all made two planters each!  They couldn’t wait to get home and show their friends and family what they had made.

Well done girls! Remember to water your plants regularly!
