Sew Sisters Volunteers

If you have some basic sewing skills and would like to support the running of our Sew Sisters course for women 1 or more afternoon/ weekday per week, please inquire at eastendwomen@buildingfutureseast.org- we would love to hear from you!

Basic training such as safeguarding and boundaries are mandatory, and offered upon induction- we look forward to hearing from you 🙂

Foodbank volunteer opportunities

We have volunteer opportunities for stock and food parcel assistants in our foodbank. Roles are for over the summer holidays so please inquire if you have availability over this period:

X 2 Food parcel  Packer assistants –  Monday/ Tuesday 10.30am  – 3pm. Duties include:

To pack food parcels ready for deliveries on a Wednesdays and Thursdays .  Systems in place to follow to make this as easy as possible. Induction required.

X 2 Stock Assistants Monday/ Tuesday/ Wednesdays  10.30am – 3pm  Friday 10.30am – 1pm. Duties include:

To receive incoming stock

Restock shelves in preparation for the food parcel being made up.

Stock rotation and generals

Wednesdays weekly stock take

X2 General Foodbank operative  – Fridays 10.30am – 3pm. Duties include:

General clear up and organise foodbank after deliveries on a Thursday, ready for the week ahead

Dispose of cardboard to onsite  recycle

Clean surfaces and mop floors

Summer holiday women’s courses

We are having a creative summer at East End Women this year! Get in touch if any of the above courses would interest you. If you’re not eligible to attend the Sew Sisters workshop but are able to pay, follow bit.ly/sewsistersstudio to view and book you place on any sewing workshop. Ticket costs from this will go back into our vital work supporting women in the East End.
