Prince’s Trust August 2011

Prince’s Trust

Seven learners have successfully completed a Get into Construction programme joint with the Prince’s Trust.  The learners completed taster sessions in brickwork, joinery, painting and decorating, plastering and tiling, H&S, manual handling and AoFA Emergency First Aid at Work and a CSCS test.  All learners now know that they want to pursue a career in the Construction industry.

Here is a sample of quotes from the learners about the course:

Ryan Enwright travelled from Ashington to take part in the course.  He showed great commitment and would like to come back in September to complete and enrol on a construction course. He described the course as “The bees knees!”

Dean Howard was grateful for the opportunity to get a snapshot of what life would be like working in the Construction industry.  He said, “I really enjoyed the course and I look forward to using the new skills that I have learnt.

Ryan Thomas is looking forward to coming back to BFE in September and completing more courses.  “I loved this course and I look forward to returning here in September to develop even more skills.”

All learners really appreciated the input from Judith Stothard, Head of Programmes, Prince’s Trust NE, David Beavis, Regional Director, Prince’s Trust NE, Chris Gray, Head of Private Sector Fundraising, Prince’s Trust NE, Lord John Shipley and Dave Donaldson Balfour Beatty and the effort that was put into the presentation day at the end of the course.

Keep up the good work and we hope to see you in September!
