Prince’s Trust learners on the Level 1 Certificate in Occupational Studies programme were today given the opportunity to show off their new found skills in front of representatives from Clugston, Prince’s Trust and BFE.
There was a truly positive and enthusiastic atmosphere as the learners gave a formal presentation in front of the visitors and spoke confidently about what they had learnt from their two-week programme. The visitors were then shown around the training facilities and learners got the chance to show off their handy work, presenting ladders, window frames, notice boards and boxes which they had learnt to build during the course.
Learners also had a great opportunity to spend some time talking about their future training and employment goals and were given some invaluable information and tips on how to get into the construction trade by Steve Waggett, Business Manager of Clugston.
During the afternoon, learners commented…..
“I couldn’t have done it without the help of my team mates in the group.”
“I am hoping to get a job with the help of the new skills I now have.”
“The course was useful to help you know which areas of construction you enjoy the most and which you are best at.”
“I really enjoyed the hard graft.”
On behalf of all of us a Building Futures East, we wish you the best of success in your future and would like to say a big ‘Congratulations’ to you all for all of your efforts and enthusiasm. Well done!!
