Former NCFE level 2 Certificate for working in the health sector learner John Young has scooped up Tyne Met partnership student of the year award 2014.
John was nominated by his tutor Tracy Johnson, as his determination to succeed had been second to none.
Having worked as a plasterer for many years, Johns had had to leave work due to ill health. Having hands on experience nursing his mother, gave John a taste of working in healthcare. He embarked on the course at Newbiggin Hall and from the very start, John excelled and was a great support to other people on the course.
Successful completion of the course has helped John to secure a job as a domiciliary carer whilst still studying, and currently supports people with complex needs in their own homes.
John is delighted; “Without the support and patience of my tutor, I wouldn’t of had the chance to complete a qualification. Doing the course meant I had all the knowledge needed for my job role . I would recommend anyone to do a BFE course”
